Synopsis :
Charles, a biker in his late sixties, lives alone in Texas, balancing his love for freedom with memories of loss. During meditation, his granddaughter Olivia suddenly comes to mind, leading him to invite his daughter Anna and her family to visit. With the help of his young neighbor Freyja, Charles recalls his troubled marriage, painful divorce, and a strange night years earlier when, stranded in a valley, he saw the radiant vision of a little girl he calls Chiquita. His journey deepens after meeting Henry, an old biker who also seems connected to the same vision, blurring the line between dream and reality. As Charles turns to meditation and yoga, he finds healing where heartbreak once ruled. When Anna’s family arrives, generational tensions surface — Joel insists on his faith, while Anna slowly reconnects with her father’s worldview. Tender moments with Olivia spark Charles’s longing for peace, as her innocence reminds him of Chiquita’s presence. But who is this mysterious little girl, and why does she return? That question lies at the heart of the film.
Director’s Statement :
Chiquita started off as a flash of an idea and the process of making it taught me the craft of surrender/devotion more than the craft of filmmaking. You will know what I mean once you watch the film. I see this work as my small contribution to bringing the world together.
